Normal Landing Pattern for 11R @ CA89

That Looks About Right

The purpose of this page is to get you used to looking outside the cockpit and judging the angles to landing. You should be able to land without reference to the altimeter (You know when the ground is coming up to meet you).
The pattern starts at the IP. Looking at the aim point should look about like this.

Fly a 45 degree pattern entry until the aim point looks like it's about a 30 degree down angle - something like this - then turn downwind.

Keep the aim point about 30 degrees down as you fly downwind. When the aim point is about 45 degrees behind you - something like this - then make the turn onto the base leg.

Keep the aim point at about a 30 degree down angle as you fly base. After you turn fianl to line up with the runway, your view should look something like this (no you're not too high). Maintain this glide angle all way way to the aim point, when you are about 5 feet above the ground, slow the glider to touchdown speed and use the spoilers to reach the desired touchdown point.
